im:PRESS offers complex management system for a newspaper, enabling work-flow for journalists, reporters, editorial offices, DTP staff and giving a reliable and modern solution for press publishers. Our system is ideal for both small local weekly and big daily newspapers. No matter how many people work on the next issue and where they do it, im:PRESS puts all
their work together.
The idea of im:PRESS is a state-of-technology web application that runs in Internet Explorer and is accessible for all co-workers from anywhere in the world 24 hours a day.
It stores all texts in the reliable database, giving the possibility of sharing them (for edition, wording, gallery etc.) between all people engaged in creation of the newspaper.
Articles are created and corrected in a user friendly and fully equipped WYSIWYG editor with easy-to-use defined styles used in the newspaper layout. It provides additional tools - spellchecker, photos picking tool, special character table, notes for DTP. im:PRESS also stores photos, links them to articles and helps to control your photo gallery. Text and add-on information provided by author or corrector gives an editor or DTP department a complete material for managing the issue layout. The system calculates text width and layout giving exact information about the size of an article size and shape. From the article (linked by the system to a particular issue, page numbers, photos and other information) im:PRESS generates an XML file that can be easy imported in many DTP software. im:PRESS is especially designed to use with Adobe. InDesign. (ver. 2.0 and higher), which imports XML files and maps tags to defined styles (just as in the editor, for example: top, lead, paragraph, smart-box etc.). It saves time and reduces the placing of ready and formatted articles on the page by dragging the XML into InDesign. It makes small corrections and adjusts the photo size and position. It is easy to place articles just as the author wants with selected photos and additional information in smart-boxes, links, etc.
There are a couple of modules that gives im:PRESS really impressive possibilities, besides of managing all newspaper articles and photos only.
im:PRESS on-line module sends finished articles (with selected photos) automatically to newspaper website or any database, updating your on-line content without any work. im:PRESS publishes on-line the whole newspaper with only one click! It also works with our portal and cable television informational program systems. Other modules enable you to use im:PRESS tools for managing news for on-line publishing.
im:PRESS can also manage and control the layout of press advertisements, combining them with articles on a page they have been placed on. It also contains a complete advertisement billing system.
im:PRESS provides a module for classified ads management which can be sent by customers using e-mail, website form or premium SMS for further edition and publishing.
im:PRESS is also useful for distribution. It calculates sale in a desired period of time for each point of sale or distributor.
